We would concur with one of the findings that IT innovation is often associated with outward business differentiation in the competitive legal landscape rather than improvements in inward facing improvements such as knowledge transfer and process improvement.
We do feel though that some of the profound adjustments made to inward IT projects can mitigate the risks of an outward data management / cyber breach issue which would badly reflect on the outward differentiation that the partnership has within the sensitive world of data compliance and data security.
